Baby Times are gentle story times for newborns to one-year-olds, with a caregiver.  We read a story, do bounces and rhymes, have some special music and free play time.  Families often stay after to visit and have fun.  Including free time, plan to stay about 30 minutes to an hour.

What will I experience at Lapsit Storytime with my 2 or 3 year old?  Expect to hear 3 or 4 age-appropriate books read, to dance - maybe with scarves or shaker eggs, and to learn some new finger rhymes.  You'll have an opportunity to meet Penelope the Puppet who loves Poetry, to guess what's in the Mystery Bag, and to watch a puppet show on the 'big' puppet stage.

Lapsit is a lively storytime with many short segments designed with the attention span of  2 and 3 year olds in mind.

All programs are sensory friendly.  If a half hour of Lapsit is a bit too long for your child, please come for whatever amount of time works for you and your child.  You are welcome to slip out  - and come back either in a few minutes or another week!

Who knew that dogs love stories too? Sign up for Neenah Public Library’s Pooches & Pages: Kids Reading to Therapy Dogs on Saturday, February 11. Children in first through sixth grade may sign up for a fifteen-minute reading appointment between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m.

Pooches & Pages is held on the second Saturday of every month. It is a reading program designed to build reading confidence and self-esteem, help a child maintain focus for a longer period of time, and increase the motivation to read. Dogs are carefully selected to ensure a safe and fun experience, and the owner/handlers are library volunteers who love helping children become enthusiastic readers. The dogs are gentle, calm and polite and listen patiently and without judgment as a child reads aloud.
