Hannah
Hey!
My name is Hannah Velazquez,
I'm excited to share my story with you. I hope you find it enjoyable. Thank you!
From a young age, I've had a deep appreciation for libraries and the wealth of resources they offer.
Growing up in a small town with a predominantly cold climate, outdoor activities were limited unless you enjoyed freezing temperatures, which I certainly didn't. Money was tight, and we didn't have cable or internet access at home. Thankfully, we had the public library, which became my sanctuary outside of school. My sister and I would embark on a new subject each week, eagerly visiting the library to gather books, magazines, and VHS videos. We'd bring our treasures home and immerse ourselves in learning about diverse topics, from wildlife to the mysteries of the universe. We even delved into more lighthearted subjects, like trying to figure out how to get a crush to notice you!
We spent hours quizzing each other, ensuring we truly understood each subject. During this time, my sister and I grew closer, becoming not just siblings but also friends. I am incredibly grateful for the experiences and knowledge I gained during those formative years, and I owe it all to the public library. Thank you for providing a space where curiosity and learning could flourish.
