Uncommon Facts about Common Birds with Stan Tekiela, Naturalist, wildlife photographer and writer

Naturalist, wildlife photographer and writer Stan Tekiela is the originator of the popular state-specific field guides such as Birds of Wisconsin Field Guide, Wildflowers of Wisconsin Field Guide, and Trees of Wisconsin Field Guide. Over the past three decades Stan has authored more than 130 field guides, nature appreciation books and wildlife audio CDs for nearly every state in the nation, presenting many species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, trees, wildflowers and cacti. Come and listen to Tekiela as he gives some uncommon facts about common birds.

The first & third Wednesdays of each month (unless otherwise noted) at 6:30pm in the 2nd floor Carpenter Room.


Bring your latest project or one that you are struggling to complete. Learn about charity knitting projects. 

For new knitters, experienced knitters, crocheters and other needle crafters - all ages are welcome!

Volunteers with AARP will be at the library Thursdays beginning at 11:30 to help low- to moderate- income taxpayers and seniors prepare their tax returns.

Appointments required. Call 920-215-1040 to schedule an appointment Monday through Friday. Appointment hotline opens mid-January.

 

Bring music you're working on, something you're having trouble with, play a solo or a duet for the group, play along with your fellow ukers. All skill levels welcome!

Ukers will meet in the first floor Story Time Room.

Drop in for a friendly game of chess every Thursday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to attend. Even if you have never played, but are interested in learning, stop by and we will teach you. No registration or chess boards required. Chess is played on the library's second floor.

Have you thought about your family’s legacy? What do you want your children to remember? What about your children’s children? Learn how to create a Legacy Journal with Lori Coonen at the Neenah Public Library, Thursday April 4th at 6:30pm. Coonen will help you document your family’s life stories. Learn how to pass along cherished memories, life lessons, and more. Create a document that will resonate through generations. Please bring your favorite writing utensil. This free workshop does not require registration.

Music and Meaning

Exploring modern dance pioneer, Isadora Duncan, through her own choreography and the work of those inspired by her.

In a collaborative program with dancer, Pam Luedtke, and pianist, Nell Buchman, the life and work of Isadora Duncan is celebrated through historical and modern choreography, slides, costuming and classical piano repertoire.

 

The hour-long concerts begin at 2:00 PM, October to May, in the Shattuck Community Room. Performances are free and open to the public. The concert series is sponsored by The Friends of the Neenah Public Library.

Sunday, April 7

Are you interested in learning how to play Dungeons and Dragons? Join us every Sunday at 1:00pm in the second floor Aylward Room at the Neenah Public Library. This friendly Dungeons and Dragons group is always looking for few more adventurers. This is a great introduction for newbies, or people simple looking for a gaming group. No registration is required for this free event.

This is group is for adults 18 and older.
