Join us for a Tech Talk to learn about podcasts, we will discuss how to access, download, and listen along with a review of the most popular, chart-topping podcast shows.

Eleven Miles to Oshkosh – the Local Ties

Join us when Jim Guhl, author of Eleven Miles to Oshkosh, presents a program on the local stories behind his recent book.  Jim, a retired engineer from Hudson, Wisconsin, drew on his own childhood experiences growing up in Neenah in the 1960s and 70s to write his first full-length fiction novel set in the Fox Cities. Jim will share insights on getting started as a writer as part of this interesting and nostalgic program. 

ThedaCare’s Proud Past, Promising Future

Join us for a look back and a look ahead at ThedaCare. Theda Clark Peters dreamed of a better life for the people of her community. Before her sudden passing in 1903, just three days after giving birth to her only child, she made sure her hometown of Neenah would have a hospital to care for the sick and improve the health of all people. On October 18, 1909, the sixth birthday of Theda’s daughter, ThedaCare opened its first doors.

Author Presentation-Ace of Aces

Did you know the nation’s top fighter pilot of World War II was from Wisconsin?  Mike O’Connor author of the book “Ace of Aces” will discuss the life of United States Army Air Forces pilot Major Richard Bong of Poplar, Wisconsin.  Major Bong was credited with shooting down 40 Japanese aircraft and earned the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Distinguished Service Cross and was one of the most decorated pilots of the war.

Sunday Concert Series: Encore! Handbell Ensemble

 

Join us for a fantastic performance from Encore! Handbell Ensemble

Performing quartets, quintets and small instrumental ensembles, this experienced group of artists, incorporates harmonies on flute, cello and keyboard to enhance the beautiful handbells.

The hour-long concerts begin at 2:00 PM, October to May, in the Shattuck Community Room. Performances are free and open to the public. The concert series is sponsored by The Friends of the Neenah Public Library.

 

 

Sunday Concert Series: The Salmon Run Band

 

Join us at the library for an afternoon performance from The Salmon Run Band! Wisconsin based artists form this emerging and talented group, performing alternative country folk originals on acoustic and electric guitars.

The hour-long concerts take place one Sunday each month, October to May, in the Shattuck Community Room. Performances are free and open to the public. The concert series is sponsored by The Friends of the Neenah Public Library.
