Before her sudden passing in 1903, just three days after giving birth to her only child, she made sure her hometown of Neenah would have a hospital to care for the sick and improve the health of all people. On October 18, 1909, the sixth birthday of Theda’s daughter, ThedaCare opened its first doors.
