2025 Volunteer of the Year
The Friends of the Neenah Public Library is happy to announce Lori Lohry as the 2025 Volunteer of the Year. Lori has been a volunteer at the Neenah Public Library for two and a half years, shelving materials, serving summer lunches, assisting at the annual book sale, and assisting the youth department with their many projects. When asked why she enjoys volunteering at the library, she responded, “I have always liked being in libraries since I was a kid. It is comfortable, a natural fit, and I feel useful. I know that I am doing something beneficial for the kids and the staff.” In addition to helping at the library, Lori also volunteers at her church as a member of the church council, a reader, and an usher. In the past, Lori volunteered her time at Feeding America.
Lori has been a Neenah resident for 43 years and was a special education teacher for 38 of those years. When Lori’s grandchildren come to visit, she enjoys bringing them to the library for fun activities like playing in Nina’s café, completing the outside obstacle course, and taking home craft kits.
Volunteer Coordinator, Lisa Laux-Robak, said, “We appreciate all the time and energy Lori has given to the library, and we look forward to many more years as your volunteer home.”
