This past fall, in partnership with Lawrence University, the Neenah Public Library offered a series of jazz concerts. Each performance highlighted a famous jazz musician. The first event featured the music of renowned composer Thelonious Monk, while the last delivered a stellar performance of saxophone giant John Coltrane's seminal work. Each event found the student quartet offering up lively and approachable takes of the featured artist's tunes. In between songs, the band presented short biographical sketches and antidotes related to each artist; taking the audience on a short spellbinding musical journey.

For an encore, the band is coming back to NPL this spring for two Sunday dates. The featured artists will be the hard bop trumpeter Lee Morgan (Sunday, April 14th at 2:00pm) and the prolific jazz pianist Herbie Hancock (Sunday, April 28th at 2:00pm.) No registration is necessary, but please arrive early if you would like a seat close to the performance.
