Monday, July 19

Read a selected book and then share your thoughts and feelings with each other through good old-fashioned mail!  Register and pick up a copy of the book and "pen pal envelope" at the Youth Desk.  Meet at Shattuck Park to discuss book, snack, and exchange pen pal envelopes once a month.  Monday, July 19, 10:00-11:00 a.m. is our meeting date to discuss Front Desk by Kelly Yang.

Practice the art of circular weaving.  It's all about the process!  Explore color, texture, and pattern.  Exercise your creativity and resourcefulness.  Reuse the circle template again and again.  This program is great for all ages.

Wednesday, July 21

Join Miss Katrina and Miss LoriAnn each week for this all-ages musical storytime experience.  Together we will practice and learn important skills, such as language development, spatial skills and motor skills.  This program also gives kids a chance to practice self-control and help them gain awareness of their own bodies and others’ in addition to learning some fun music vocabulary!

Thursday, July 22

Join Miss Hannah and Miss Jodi as we get back into the swing of storytime. Share stories, simple rhymes and movement activities at this outdoor storytime for the whole family!

All ages and skill levels are welcome! Chess sets will be provided. Coaching and beginner help is available.

Unvacinnated patrons are required to wear a mask while playing.

Friday, July 23

Getting bendy with books! Please join us for Kids Yoga at Fritse Park (899 N. Lake St.). Breathe, bend and read together with stories, rhymes and songs. Children will develop pre-literacy skills with simple poses and mindfulness exercises.

Bring a beach towel or mat and join us for this open air event. Free, open to the public, and all ages welcome.
