Ok everyone, I have added a couple of links, over on the right there, to LibraVox and Project Gutenberg. Each on offers free editions of books in the public domain. LibraVox specializes in the audio formats, and Project Gutenberg has mostly text ebooks, along with some audio ebooks as well.

The boy’s father isa sharecropper, struggling to feed his family in hard times. Night after night, he and his great coon dog, Sounder, return to the cabin empty-handed.

On July 29th 1914, the world’s peace was shattered as the artillery of the Austria-Hungary Empire began shelling the troops of the country to its south. What followed was like a row of falling dominoes as one European country after another rushed into war. Soon most of Europe was fighting in this calamitous war that could have been avoided. This was, of course, the First World War.

Deep underground, the Minimoys are waiting . . . for a champion.
Arthur’s grandfather disappeared four years ago. All he left behind are his notebooks full of stories about the Minimoys, a miniature people who are all less than one inch tall!
But the Minimoys can’t possibly be real . . . can they?
