Memory Cafés are for those experiencing early stage dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment, and for family and friends of those affected. It’s a great opportunity for lively discussions, information gathering, refreshments, camaraderie, and lots of creative fun thrown in! We have a gerontology professional on hand to answer questions and an enormous wealth of experience among participants to be shared. We’d be delighted if you would join us! Call Betty at 225-1711, Fox Valley Memory Project Program Coordinator, or the Neenah Public Library at 886-6315 for more information.
Memory Cafés will be held the third Monday of every month from 1:30-3:30. Note: If assistance is needed to participate, please bring with you someone to help.
June 17: It’s storytelling time! Through the use of “Timeslips” we will collectively use imagination and improvisation to create original, fun stories to share. Come create with us and we’ll put the coffee on!
July 15: Guess the Object! We’ll be sharing a collection of useful items . . . some old, some new. The challenge will be guessing what they were used for. Do you have any unique items to bring from home that might stump our group? Feel free to bring them to the July café.
August 19: Dog Days of Summer! Enjoy lemonade or root beer floats and spend time with “Soda Pups”, some very special four-legged visitors. We’ll be sharing stories about our favorite pets. Feel free to bring pictures if you’d like.
