Neenah Notables Series-Effie Waller Smith: Noted African-American Poet

Effie Waller Smith was born in Tennessee to ex-slave parents, but lived the last 10 years of her life in Neenah. She is buried in Oakhill Cemetery. The program will be held in the Shattuck Room starting at 7:00 p.m.

The "Neenah Notables" sponsored by the Neenah Historical Society and co-sponsored by the Neenah Public Library is a series of programs on Neenah's sons and daughters (both well-known and little-known) who have had significant impacts on the world of the arts, sciences, and commerce.
