Summer Edition!

Greetings:

This summer we will be reading The Penderwicks written by Jeanne Birdsall.  The dicussion will take place Tuesday evening, July 14th at 6:30 p.m.  We hope you’ll find this a fun summer read!

The story takes place in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains in the state of Massachusetts.   It will be a summer vacation the four sisters will never forget.

Box Out by John Coy

Liam has just been bumped up to starter on the varsity basketball team, and the pressure’s on. With the girls’ team heading to State, the boys’ team is under even greater scrutiny than usual in Liam’s small midwestern town. When the team’s coach starts counting on the power of prayer—and enforcing teamwide participation—Liam finds himself in a spotlight that’s more nerve-racking than any trip to the free-throw line.

The Dark Hills Divide by Patrick Carman

Elyon is a land of dark hills, enchanted forests, and great walls that connect and encircle the cities of Lathbury, Turlock, Lunenburg, and Bridewell like spokes in a wagon wheel. On her annual summer trips to Bridewell with her father, the mayor of Lathbury, Alexa Daley spends much of her time dreaming of escape. Having lived within the walls all of her 12 years, she wants nothing more than to explore the uncharted wilderness beyond.
